Q: Is my Hourglass resource on my company’s payroll? How does that work?
A: No. Your Hourglass professional is a contractor and not an employee on your payroll. It works best for everyone though if you treat your talent like any other valuable member of the team. Hourglass handles all payment to the contractors (no matter how many contractors you have) making the process simple and pain-free for you.
Q: Are there any long-term contracts? What is the commitment?
A: There is a three month initial commitment. We require this as, like any new hire, it takes time for your Hourglass contractor to get fully embedded into your business and begin adding value. Once the three months is up the contract is month to month. No strings attached and no long term commitment. We hope your contractor will be with you for years to come but we recognize your business is dynamic and flexibility is important.

Q: Will my Hourglass professional be working only for me? Are they full time? What hours are worked?
A: Your professional will be full time (i.e. 40 hours per week) and fully dedicated to you and your business. They work during your preferred work hours just like any other member of the team.

A: We have been incredibly impressed with the quality of professionals available in Latin America. There are a number of reasons LatAm works so well for US based companies. First, from a logistics standpoint Latin Americans are on similar time zones and can work along side you and your team. Further, most have strong English skills and there is no difficulty in communication. The truly exciting benefits though go beyond time zone and English proficiency. For context, many American business stakeholders we’ve spoken to have privately stated that they are increasingly finding US talent lacks a strong work ethic while maintaining a sense of entitlement. This is not popular to say out loud and of course doesn’t apply to all US workers but it is a theme we continue to hear. Q: How does the process work?
A: To get started, fill out a brief survey so we can better under your company and unique needs. From there we will schedule a call to better understand your needs and learn what your ideal professional looks like. Once you are ready to proceed we typically find the perfect match for you. During this time we are performing all screening, interviewing, and vetting. After we have a strong match we start the process of embedding our Hourglass professional into your team. To help ensure everything goes as smooth as possible we have a US based team lead that you can reach out to anytime and we also do multiple check ins to gather feedback.
